2006 HTP 'Chugging'

Featured Replies

Hi

Daughter has a 2006 HTP and has had it almost 3 months, and since purchasing had a problem with the Control system for exhaust warning lights coming on, taken the car back to the garage she brought it from (not a main dealer). They initially only checked with a fault finder and cleared it down.

The second time they took the car in for the same fault and claimed to have replaced cables (which I assume are HT cables ?), car seemed OK but a little low on power although that seems OK now

Now on two occasions the car has 'chugged' as if started in gear without depressing the clutch and 3 lights come on :-

  1. Dynamo
  2. EPC
  3. Control system for exhaust

When the ignition is turned off and back on the lights go out and the car seems to run OK.

Any suggestions ? Reluctant to take to a main dealer due to the cost and that the original garage should resolve it themselves, would be good to be better informed. I am unable to get under the bonnet to help due to frustrating physical problems/

Thanks

It appears to throw fault codes yes? If so check our VCDS forum, cos I'm sure there's someone in Kent will read codes for free or at most for a drink.
