Ordering today..

Featured Replies

I have agonised over this. This afternoon I am going to order a TSI VRS DSG with Black pack Canton audio and Amundsen on 0% pcp.

1500 quid down leaves me with 361quid per month to find over 42 months. Optional final payment 8865. Sounds scary I know. But when you factor in that my present car, a MKII TDI CR VRS DSG which I might try and sell private and may fetch around 8.5K which will then sit in a high interest account for 42 months. I have convinced mesen that that is a wise move leaving me with just that.. 8.5K plus 300 quid or more interest gained in an ISA over duration of my pcp. This along with the difference between the final payment and GFV will leave me with a wedge for my next  car in 42 months. Surely this makes sense!!

My other option was to blow my entire equity/trade in for mine.. about 7.5K at a dealer on a deposit for a demonstrator I have seen and end up paying £332.21 over FOUR YEARS. This for a car with 6K on the clock and NO extras. That is on a 5% apr loan.

I suppose if you intend to do a pcp it's jus a really bad idea to blow too much on a deposit. Some put their entire car equity in to get monthly payments down. That's not the way to make these deals work. Let your money stay with you, minus a little for deposit. Look at the bigger picture and not just low monthly outlay. Better still try and do 36months pcp. I just can't stretch to that though.

With my present deal the dealer has offered me 7K for mine which is guaranteed till new car is due. Not my fault if there is a delay. I could also sell l private as I said earlier, but that would mean me borrowing my mums car for a while! Not sure if she will wear that yet. Just a little worried about these delays at the moment though.

Nearly the same spec as mine (on order)...I've ordered Hatch VRS TSI DSG in White with Black pack, Canton and Amundsen... I too have ordered on 0% but with a higher deposit and lower monthly payment of £200....My build date seems to vary by the week, could be delivered anytime between December and March.....

Congrats on ordering your call, but be prepared for a very long wait. I ordered mine 3 months ago, and I thought I got in nice and early, however I've just been informed of a further 7 weeks delay until build. That's nearly 5 months so far!

I ordered my vRS 2 months ago and I'm picking it up on Friday so don't be so sure....

harry, whats the mileage of your trade-in?

Ordered mine today from Preston Motors. I kept the spec simple to keep costs down and help reduce possible delays. I had to get a manual because my wife insists on crashing every auto she drives. She thinks they are jinxed.

TSI Estate Manual

*Anthractie Alloys

*Race Blue

*Black Pack

*Sunset Glass

*Spare Wheel

Delivery estimate was 14 weeks but I was also told that there are plenty of factory delays at the moment so I am not counting my chickens. I was also told that Lane Assist is now off of the kit list, but I doubt whether I would ever use it anyway so no loss. If the car doesn't arrive by the end of January I'll happily wait for the 14 plate.

For anyone within East London / Essex I recommend giving Lee at Preston Motors a call. He has been very helpful and provided a decent deal. He also did not hound me for a sale after the initial test drive, as was the case with my local Audi and Mazda dealers.

47K I might put it up on Briskoda. I have just paid me years Freedom on here. Trouble is if it sells I might have no wheels for three months!

I phoned round the brokers to try and get some leverage on mine at Benfield in Harrogate. They were great, an absolute breeze with no pressure tactics.

Here's my spec..

TSI Estate. Corrida Red

BLACK PACK

ANTHRACITE ALLOYS

SUNSET GLASS

AMUNDSEN

CANTON

£25,080. That's over 1100 quids worth of goodies chucked in. I'm giddy as a kipper.

Nearly went for white but my little girl wanted a red one. So red it was. Trouble is i'm a Leeds United fan.

I had a pretty crap experience at DM Keith York. After a second test drive of their demonstrator I got the feeling they thought I was wasting their time. The salesperson would not even give me any figures unless I made a verbal commitment to buy! Appalling. I am the customer and I decide when to buy. The salesperson said we could be going round in circles and they get lots of time wasters!! Needless to say they did not get my business and are not likely to again.

Nightmare! I did mention this to the salesman I have just made the deal with. He said provisionally, around mid January. But I'm not convinced.

Your trade in sounds a bit low, whats the year?

Edit: Ignore my post, says DSG in first post, sorry.

09 pre facelift. No one will give me more than 7K. That is guaranteed until my car is ready.

Thats quite good then. Ive always wondered just how guaranteed that is? What the car suffers engine failure?

Corrida red estate with sunset glass looks superb in the metal, particularly on a sunny morning when the sunset glass turns a kind of midnight black! Hope you enjoy your VRS as much as I'm enjoying the 1.4!!! No irony intended!
