Thanks for the like Si. Managed to get some tunes on it I think, shall test it tomorrow.

I've had several mains shocks and they were nearly all due to my own stupidity :D (although once was an unearthed stage in the rain with a dodgy 3 phase supply, so technically it wasn't my fault)

I had a few in my career as a sparky, due to high skin resistance most didnt hurt; the only one I REALLY felt was the 16Kv. Luckily there was no real current behind it (an old 1930's oscilloscope).

I suffer the exact opposite problem (although I suppose your 'condition' may not be a problem :D ) I am very conductive. I can feel earth leakage in an awful lot of mains powered items. If I go to Currys I can touch quite a lot of appliances and feel a slight tickle. It has come in useful once at work however, when we had a radio mic rack that didn't work and as soon as I touched it I got quite a buzz (not in a good way). The guys I work with didn't believe me until they saw a reading on a multi meter. The chassis was live!

Not feeling it CAN be a problem, there have been a couple of instances where equipment has been live and I have not felt it that could have had disastrous consequences; once where a 2 phase supply only used a single phase isolator and another where a 600V/200A isolator was wired back to front.

When I worked for Kay&Co in Worcester it turned out that ALL of the 21 picking cranes were wired up with the former (and the trips bypassed!!); sadly I only picked up on that AFTER someone got serious burns to their hand and the picking crane took off down the isle with no-one at the controls. Kay&Co were ***** when it came to saving a few pence on safety, every site I went onto had more than a few death-traps;they fired me after 18 months because I noticed and reported so many of them.

In the latter, if I hadnt pulled the fuses and only relied on the isolator, a team of engineers would have been fried.

I did a gig once where the genny guy wired up the stage (in a wet field) with 3 phase. He then wrapped the ends using coloured insulation tape to ident the 3 phases (so far so good) but then realised that he didn't have any blue tape, so being an inventive chap he wrapped a live phase in black. He managed to melt £6k of 'fairy dust' belonging to the PA company and make their sound desk produce smoke like steam engine going uphill. He didn't receive too many Christmas cards that year.
