PROJECT HELLBOY

Featured Replies

So I have a 1.9 TDI Comfort 100BHP, 125,000 miles, 3rd owner and full service history. Something I intend to keep for a good few years hopefully and modify over time. I have already started some mods, pics and info will be posted tomorrow after it gets a good clean.

Here is how it looked when I bought it:

Since buying the car it has had new rear disks and pads fitted, mirrors painted and roof vinyl wrapped by myself and door bump strips have been removed.

Pics of which will be up tomorrow.

This is how I hope the back end looks once day :)

Recently been learning how to achieve a better polish with a poor mans electric mop but hope to upgrade all that tech closer to Christmas.

Tomorrow I'l show pics of it after a good clean hopefully and of the engine bay detailing i've done and quite impressed myself with :)

Future upgrades / mods include:

# Coilovers

# 16 inch Porche mono-block alloys

# POLO 9n rear wiper

# Updated badges as the cost for filling the boot is a bit expensive

# Upgraded front disks and pads

# Remapped to 150bhp roughly hopefully

# Colour coordinated door handles

The next main update should be a first time attempt at stone chip repairs, painting the door handles and grill, hope to bring you weekly updates of little things. The interior will also be blacked out, I hate the custard / sick yellow look.

Great start to a project, the photoshop looks pretty cool too, minus the bumper dice.

Future plans sound good too

Photoshop looks good! Get a pd130 turbo and some injectors on it then a remap will see you the same power as a vrs!

Repeating the above but the photoshop does look sweet. Have a soft spot for this colour aswell its nice and different.

Thanks guys, dice are not on there but needs something. Think a kid stole my last hanger.

I really like the colour too, only seen one other in my area. Don't plan on any performance mods such as PD130, new turbo's etc might have a remap as its a bit pants in 3rd gear at times when you try to get going from a mini crawl.

At the moment really happy with how it runs just want it to look a bit nicer, give it my own touch.

Cleaned and clayed tonight, got it home to give it a good polish and it rained :( Wasted half hour prep and about an hour pre wash!

Hope to have some of those photos I promised of the engine tomorrow too and of it with the side bump strips removed.

They map just over 130 i think so be a nice little increase, you should talk to a guy on here lee patrick cant remember his full username but he has a mapped pd100 and in the same colour. Only thing i do not like is the debadge on that pic its abit to smooth for me but still looks better than the average :)

It is going to have a new shape badge on the back and new FABIA text but I don't want chrome. HATE IT. So i'm going to have the FABIA text gloss black to go with the roof and future tints. Can't flat the back for a while due to costs and it does look a bit too boring maybe completely smooth.

The rear centre badge though... don't know what to do about the chrome details, considered trying to make my Avatar (here on the forums) made for a back badge but then it might be a bit too "kiddy" and chavy.

Or could I have the new shape black and chrome badge but paint the chrome orange to go with the car?

Decisions...

Not sure if pastyboy can do custom badges he is the resident badge man.

I'll do some photoshop tests once I get to give it a decent wash and polish. Also looking for RED / Orange samco (is that right?) vacuum pipes/hoses end of month to brighten up the engine bay a tad.

Not sure if pastyboy can do custom badges he is the resident badge man.

Generally if you drop him a pm with your idea he can get it sorted! And with excellent service :) has been great for me and alot of others in the past

I like your plans for this :) depending where you get it mapped it totally transforms the pd100. Stick with a reputable company, no backstreet £150 maps ;) ahaa

Lee's is standard, mines the remapped one in the same colour ;)

I thought Lee's was mapped to 125

Best I can do at the moment with all the rain. Vinyl wrapped the roof myself. Need to be re done next summer:

Rained so bad 10 mins into polishing :(

Will have engine bay photos Monday evening hopefully #;0

Too wet for engine bay photos today, had 2 new front tyres though this evening. Nothing fancy but big improvement (obviously) on the old ones, I can now apply a bit more power with less spin ;)

Above shot for today:

You should wrap your grille in gloss black to match your roof :)

  • Author

I do have a bit left but don't think there is enough. I will have a go tomorrow night though if I have enought, I think it won't suit this colour car... no harm in trying. Roll on next month, might be able to get new badges then.

You should wrap your grille in gloss black to match your roof :)

+1 to this, the black grille would compliment your roof perfectly. Much better than the chrome

PROJECT WAKE UP! only because I broke something :( Can you guess what?

Some of you may also notice the black wrap is also gone, can't decide if to go back of keep it orange. Help? I have also bought some new trim, photos of that once new glass is fitted :'(

Black looked good

Looks good, nice colour too  Don't know how I missed this thread last year.

As mentioned above, mines not mapped, just a standard PD100 that made a bit  more on a dyno day at JKM's 'Heartbreak' rollers. I wasn't heartbroken :p

Did you have an issues with rust or pitting under the side bump strips at all? Been thinking of removing mine when the Sport bumper goes on.

  • Author

No rust at all but one of the 4 strips removed a tiny tiny piece of paint, spent too long with the heat gun on that one area.

  • Author

The back of the car (inside) is completely gutted too at the moment, for a reason. :)
