Try German Ebay - about 15mm from what i've read.

the uses for them is if you have wheels that rub when turning from being too wide, and from making the arches look fuller by making the wheel stick out a bit more.

I understand it can cause problems with premature wheel bearing failure though? Just a thought...

yes I have them Andy, but you only need the rears.

15mm I have and recommended max if you are planning on lowering.

20mm can be fitted otherwise.

positive effects are more settled feeling under braking and cornering.

The extra track width is not actually that obvious.

You can check your wheel bearing by jacking up car and shaking the wheel. There should be no other movemetn other than the normal, i.e. direction wheels move ( ).

I know that!! I was just asking if HE could get his wheels checked so that I would know somehow if it is okay to fit rear spacers..

The answer is I really dont know, I will theck them this weekend.

These are the spacers that I have fitted to mine - we are not talking about the kind of spacers you find in Halfords for a tenner here.

The thing is, it is not so much a styling mod - it is more to benefit the handling and stability (thats why rear fitment only)

I fitted mine after reading a few posts on SEATcupra.net - people like Badger Bill have them fitted to Ibizas and I reckon he would know what he was talking about. I also ordered them form Badger5 so asked more questions then.

Mike at Jabba also commented about benefits of fitting to Ibizas etc. Apparently more recent wheel spacers are able to handle the spacers, whereas it could be more of a problem on older cars such as Mk2s etc.

If people are that worried about wheel bearing problems, then the answer is easy - dont fit them..

Personally after reading up on it I was quite happy to trial/fit them and I reckon the results are worthwhile. Isnt that what this car modding lark is all about?

Have people with had problems with bearing failure then on Ibiza4s/fabias then? Starting to wonder now :confused: lol..

Mine have been fitted for approx 8000 miles. Will have a look this weekend.

EDITED: IMPORTANT NOTE YOU MUST FIT THE CORRECT LONGER WHEEL BOLTS WHEN FITTING WHEEL SPACERS.

The Fabia`s never really did have a problem with the rear bearings.

The front ones they did to start.

You dont just fit the bearing on the fronts it is the hub and bearing

Its a unknown quantity...

the rear bearings are sealed units.. i had one fail without spacers... dealer blamed the alloys... when it was more likey a manufacturing defect

i think its a case of if they are going to fail they will fail sooner with the extra lateral loads put on it... but doesnt mean it causes premature wear... if that makes sense

just checked with my dealer. Rear spacers are okay to use.

However, I was going to ask for 20mm but when the assistant service manager and I measured the gap between the wheel and the rear fender, it shows I can only fit upto 15mm :Yikes: 20mm and the tyres stick out a lot!!!

So I've ordered 12mm H&R spacers with the required bolts. Setting me back about GBP50 for both of them. Will be fitted at the dealers.
