Winter tyres. Vredestein vs nokian

Featured Replies

Just fitted a set of Nokian D3 - 215/60/16s . Superb. Quiet running and handling damp/wet roads admirably. Still waiting to try the white stuff.

Purchased from Wheelbase alloys fitted to superb skoda-esque alloys for a total price £790. The ride on my 14 TSi has also improved ( SE has 225/50/17s as standard). Incidentally, the mpg has improved too. Altogether a win/win......

  • Snowy was very surefooted this morning in his winter boots, coped fine in the snow and ice on the 20 mile drive. Lots of people complaining about the conditions but we were fine

  • Oponeo delivered my nokians free of charge (from Poland), which is pretty excellent considering I can't get courier deliveries from mainland UK without paying over the odds.

  • You and me too Marie.Getting anything delivered from across costs an absolute fortune. Only a small price to pay for living on an Island though. Tony

To be honest I don't think it will make much difference which make you get..

Whilst I agree most winter tyres are going to better than normal ('summer') tyres my current Bridgestone Blizzaks are pretty good ... but NOWHERE near as good as the Nokian's they replaced.
