door locks

Featured Replies

My car keeps randomly locking it's self does it all the time sometimes it will lock so I unlock it with the button on the drivers control unit and it will lock its self straight away again

Anybody shine any light on this?

I don't want to sound patronising. So I do apologise if I do. But the car automatically locks itself when you go above 15kmph I belive. Is this what's happening? It also auto locks itself when you unlock the car and don't open any doors.

I believe this can be coded out via VCDS though.

Talking of locks. I had some fun with mine today. Parked up and left a passenger in the car. Locked the doors (out of habit) but as i walked away, I realised what I had done and quickly unlocked the doors. Went into the shops and the alarm went off!

Car locked itself as I had unlocked but didn't open any doors. PITA but guess it's only doing what it's programmed to.

My auto locks have been turned off it doesn't lock over 10 mph but just randomly get the urge to lock its self

Does the interior light work correctly? I would suspect water gas got into the controller in the door, or the wiring.

Yea the interior light works should I change the control unit on the door card?

I would have a look for water ingress in the door and wiring from the door to car.

Yea the red light at the bottom of the door comes on yes and a dont know about the fault code i havent got a cable

Without some form of diagnostics you are guessing. VCDS will tell you what's going on with each door etc.

No, I think there is a problem, the locking shouldn't behave like that.
