Love the white with black pack. Saw one in dealers yesterday and together with sunset glass looked really good. I'm on the verge of buying one and I think white it'll be!

Thanks for sharing

Thanks for sharing the pics :)

By the way is the rear bumper protection strip a accessory fitted by the dealer :wonder:

Thanks,

TP

Yes, dealer accessory - though they have a contractor come in to fit all sticky things.  Really happy with it - great for the dog paws!

Are the number plates stuck on or screwed on?

I always replace them with 3d effect plates with the EU/GB side stripe (I do a lot of motoring abroad and it saves having to remember to carry a magnetic GB plate).

Stuck on - i doubled checked that there would be no holes drilled.. The dealer said they use sticky pas to put them on. I am going to replace them with EU plates in the new year as we a re not going driving abroad this winter.

An excellent choice. Enjoy it, but where is the antenna?

I guess it is in the rear window - there is definitely no visible antenna..

Congratulations brother

Great looking motor mate! My hatch is being built this week so 3 weeks or so and I'll be posting photos :D

The antenna is indeed mounted in the rear window, if I understand correctly you get a shark fin if you opt for Bluetooth + and/or Sat Nav

The vRS looks very good.

Ordered mine which is due to be built next week, can't wait.

I am interested to see the rear bumper protector because both my dealer and SUK told me they were not available for the vRS. They are only available for the standard estate and the rear bumper is different to the vRS. Can you tell me where you got yours from.

Nice to see a exhaust behind each tailpipe :giggle:

I found the accessory in the brochure (which the dealer didnt have) and quoted the part number directly. The dealer was able to order the parts and they got them stuck on the car... I even had the send the dealer a PDF of the brochure as they couldnt access it! (dont they have google?)

Thanks for the reply.

Do you still have the part number.

I have looked on google and everything I have found so far states it does not fit the vRS. I have spoken to SUK and they confirm they do not have a rear bumper protection to fit the vRS.

Clearly there is because you have it fitted.

Now done over 500 miles in the new girl and everything is going well.

It is blindingly quick - you do have to be careful with this TSI version - especially if you push the peddle to the floor and depress the little button under the throttle. geeez....

Fuel economy is best in 'normal' mode (weird eh). On a long run to London (kings cross) and back to norwich (200 miles) i got an average of 32mpg and this is driving at indicated 80 (about 76mph). It has a really small tank (50l) which is funny because my Polo had 55l!

Did notice some weird contaminants on the bodywork which did not come off during a wash, but could be got rid of using normal polish.. Also found that using glass polish made  significant difference in wiper noise on the glass - the glass even felt rough until i polished it!

One rattle has presented above the driver right ear - i cant tell if it comes from the seatbelt opening or somewhere near the grab handle. It is not always there and is not really a problem.

Canton has got better with age (thanks for the headsup) and now does sound significantly better than when new.

I couldn't find a 'maintenance' setting for the wipers (so they move up and it is then possible to lift them to replace/clean) anyone got any ideas - i currently turn the wipers on and when in the right position turn off the ignition....

The black bumper guard is great - but it does trap some water - no problem so long as the car is driven often.

Also, i thought that the headlights had automatic high/low beams - was this an extra that i didnt get?

Here is the email i sent ordering the parts:

Dear Sam,

Lets go with:

Protective Strip (Black) - 5E9 064 711

Rubber Boot Mat - 5E9 061 160

I will leave the dog guard and decorative foil for now.

Any update on where the car is?

Kind Regards,

Unfortunately i have deleted the brochure now - i got the link from another topic on here. Someone else must have a copy

If its the same as the MK2 turn on the ignition, turn it off again but leave the key in and pull anf activate the flick wipe function (pull down on the wiper stalk), the wipers should go up but then not come down again. Once done turn on ignition and activate flick wipe and they'll go back to their usual position.

By the way the vRS gets the lane assistant in place of high beam assist, the elegance gets high beam but no standard lane assist, both have light assistant.

Found the below on the online manual;

http://ws.skoda-auto.com/OwnersManualService/Data/en/Octavia_5E/05-2013/Manual/Octavia/A7_Octavia_OwnersManual.pdf under Windscreen wipers and washers and Replacing the windscreen wiper blades :)

Service position for changing wiper blades

  • Closing the bonnet.
  • Switch the ignition off and on again.
  • Within 10 seconds, press the lever in position 4 and keep it held for around 2 seconds Fig. 43.

The windscreen wiper arms move into the service position.

Winter setting of the windscreen wiper

If the windscreen wipers are in rest position, they cannot be folded out from the windscreen. For this reason we recommend adjusting the windscreen wipers in winter so that they can be folded out from the windscreen easily.

  • Switch on the windscreen wipers.
  • Switch off the ignition.

The windscreen wipers remain in the position in which they were when switching off the ignition.

Thanks for this :)

Also worth noting dealer fit options fitted at the time of first registration/delivery are covered by the same 3 year warranty as the car, as I found out. However some dealers don't seem to know about it or maybe pretend they don't, particularly if they didn't supply the car and fit the accessory in the first place.

Found the accessories brochure here;

Think the SUK limitation police would have heart failure seeing this :giggle:

Oh would have been great to have the black pack and Premia 16" alloys on the option list for the SE; just lift the look nicely particularly with white or silver.

Gorgeous car!

Enjoy it. Still love my FL Mk 2 TSI Estate, but have to admit to a pang of jealousy!

When I collected mine there were remnants of the glue they use to fix the transport protection, but dealer soon got rid of them.

To put the wipers in service mode the manual says turn ignition off then on. Of course that should be on then off & then press down wiper stalk. Otherwise with ignition on the wipers just keep going.

Out of interest do the control panel near the gear stick. Does the magic button say "vrs mode" or just "mode" great car can't wait for mine.

Nice pics, can't wait to get mine. Saw that you have the multimedia/ phone holder in the cup holders up front. Did the car come with this?
