No TSI badge on the boot

Featured Replies

I'm not talking Sweden.

Understand it, but do not think the market in UK is different from Sweden and the rest of Europe.

I understand everybody's comments and thanks for it.

All I am trying to understand is, shouldn't dealer be asking you if you want the badge or not?

Looks better without in my opinion unless you have one of the bigger engines or a vRS. At least as it stands no one would know if its a 1.2 or a 1.4.

Makes sense.... ;)

I de-badged mine just for the cleaner look.  The fact that they didn't come with the 4x4 2L DTI badge made the job easier .... less to take off :)

I think there has been a blip in the supply of some badges.

I can't imagine Skoda willing to delay customer orders for a boot badge.

"Just ship them without it".

No it's not ... The factory does not put on some brands now, all of that makes the seller at home.

In Sweden, then all cars without badges (TDI / TSI), can promise that it's the same way in the UK

I can promise you that this is not the case in the UK. Skoda's arrive at the dealer with all appropriate badges fitted by the factory.

As others have mentioned it is probably a supply issue.

Hi,

Even I am finding it hard to believe that they ship the car without putting appropriate badges. It needs precision and accuracy to put badges on the car and every thing gets done before it leaves the factory.

And you would be right. I have seen a video of the Octavia 2 built process. The badges are indeed put on using a jig/template frame to get correct alignment.  I would very much doubt that every dealership in the UK has been supplied with one (per model)!

For Sweden, then all TSI / TDI marks in a bag, then you get put on the label if you want, but like I said the right engine brand unit is supplied always with the car.

Can not tell you how it is in the UK, but just think it's weird if our market would be different from all other markets.

Skoke to dealer regarding this. His thoughts were, we cant put badges for skoda however with seat we do everything in house. And he did mention that new 1.2 TSIs haven't got badges on. Skoda is moving away from categorising cars.

That might be the "official line", I still wonder what the real reason is ... supply chain problem??

Noticed when I put my spec through the Build your Own a couple of times last week, that under the standard features listed for the exterior it stated 'without nameplate set (without model designation)'

However I ran it again yesterday to add the new fold down front seat option and that statement has now disappeared :wonder:

Yes i think so...

Had a dealer tell me in the past that it's only the UK that put badges on the back of cars that shouldn't be there.

Little chavs like sticking M sport on base model BMW's.  Plenty of GSI badges on 1.2 Corsas.

Really shouldn't worry about a TSI badge missing on the bottom of the range engine selection.

I was bit concerned at first when the badge was missing but now I appreciate the fact that it doesnt have the badge. I am not going to have it now.
