No TSI badge on the boot

Featured Replies

Hi,

Just realised that my boot hasnt got TSI badge on my brand new 1.2 TSI SE. I have seen so many octavias with TSI on.

Is it normal or a quality issue??

S

ask for twenty quid back and say your's is a 'sleeper' :)

I am sorry what does that mean?

Should it be there in the first place? Have you seen any octavia with the badge missing??

Odd, ask your dealer if they can order the badge and fit it for you.

All cars nowadays come without TDI / TSI badge to the seller, then the seller puts on the label if you want it in this case he forgot.

Go back to where you bought the car and talk to them so put them on for you if you want.

Didn't want the TSI badge on my 1.4.Prefer it without. However, if you want it, the dealer should put it on for you.

Just realised that my car hasn't got a TSi badge, although the dealer never made mention of it.  Like redrocket2 I can't say it bothers me one way or another & to be honest the back of the car with SKODA on one side and OCTAVIA on the other would start to look cluttered with another badge.

On my car I removed the T and i and left only the S, just to confuse people!

That is funny!!!

With the Yeti the 1.2 engined cars are devoid of TSI badging, only the 1.4 and 1.8 have badging with the later a red letter I to denote the greater performance. Might be the same with the Octy.

Think also like other Octy parts there might be a short supply issue; noted some 4x4 have come without the 4x4 tag others have, whereas the press test cars had 4x4 plus TDI/TSI badging :wonder:

Yes i agree. I will call the dealer tomorrow and ask for it. To be honest, I am getting double minded with it now. Might not even have it. I think it looks better without it.

Nonesense! If a cars comes with badges then they're fitted at the factory.

It does seem a bit hit and miss with Skoda parts. They should get their supply chain sorted. Minor things like this means the customer goes without, other more major items have caused long delays!

If the tsi badge just meant turbo stratified injection that would be ok and logical, but it doesn't. It's about ego. The 1.8 has a red s and i. The 1.4 has a red i. Yours would have no red at all, just silver tsi. Be cool and go for relative anonymity. Free yourself from this particular manifestation of badge engineered ego construction!!! More importantly, I hope you really enjoy the 1.2 engine. i think the EA 211 petrol engines are just amazing for performance, quietness and economy. Cheers.

I'd like to bet this forum would "light up" if the badge was missing from a VRS's owners car!!!!!

I am with you on that. Its just not about the badge. I can live without it but the thing is why wasn't i told that badge is missing. If one thing is suppose to be on the car then I thing it should be there.

Not happy with it.

Sorry mate,

I dint agree with you on that. If you pay a full amount for a car and wait 3 months then you would want a fully quality controlled product. If you buy a car and the car seat has some smudge marks or imperfection on, would you still pick the car up just because the 1.2 engine is just good for performance, economy etc etc. I am not worried about what colour TSI I get on the boot. It all comes down to the final product you are getting.

As one of the user said, will the situation change if the VRS badge is missing. I am sure a badge cant effect the performance of the car. Sorry mate no ego issues here.

Apologies in advance if I am being rude.

But your badge isn't missing! It's not supposed to have one!

My 1.2 has the TSi, but they other day when I went in (to order a Citigo Sport) the salesman said that they now deliver all their cars without the badging and that if I asked they'd take it off.

That what I am wondering. As I have seen 1.2 TSI Octavias with the badge on.

Not sure if they had it retrofitted. Even if you go on auto trader every 1.2 has a badge on.

So the dealer can help if I want the badge on?

Shouldn't the be bit proactive and ask or mention this before the customer has to go through all this..

Is it not just a case of it being dropped for MY14?

No it's not ... The factory does not put on some brands now, all of that makes the seller at home.
In Sweden, then all cars without badges (TDI / TSI), can promise that it's the same way in the UK

I'm not talking Sweden.
