PID, Garmin, MAC usb3 - is it me?

Hi folks,

I've tried my garmin PID on my mac (MBPr15", 10.8.5), it mounts as a storage device, but the garmin tools cannot see the device. I thought it might be a mac quirk, so I tried on swmbo's win7 laptop. Even tried pass through to win8 vm... no joy.

Both machines are usb3 and both can see it, the device, but neither os with garmins software can find the device.

So has anyone else gotten their mac, recent machines, to connect ok?

Will get in touch with garmin support this week. A few comments on the interweb generally about usb3 support being poor.

Thoughts?

Colin, I remember another owner, with the navigon version, having problems with the PiD and a mac.

IIRC he eventually got it sorted.

I think his was an issue with the Freshmaps though.

Not much help, just a bit of a heads up really.

My mac and pid talk fine since I downloaded the "fresh" software for mac off the garmin site
