I am so confused

Featured Replies

I want to organise a set of winter tyres and wheels for my 2005 Fabia VRS. It currently runs on 205 45 16.

Am I right in believing that the best option for winter tyres is to run suitable 15inch rims with either 185 55 15 OR 195 50 15?

Sorry if this is going over old ground, but I have found the whole issue very confusing. I want to buy some used steel or alloy rims, and don't want to end up with the wrong wheels/tyres.

Cheers for any advice

you could just buy 205 45 16 winters ;) I have a nice set of octy elegance wheels wearing that size (goodyears) for my fabia II for winter :)

Trouble with the 205/45/16's is the bloody price :( I think a narrower tyre with a higher sidewall would be better with the inevitable potholes and to cut through the snow :) I'll be putting on my standard 185/60/14's with GoodYear Ultragrip 8's
