Bluetooth +

Used a similar app and saw a similar difference, so happy it is working now.

My car was finally picked up by me last night. Here's my thoughts on Bluetooth+:

Placing the phone in the cubby definitely improves signal, for me on an iPhone 5s it increases from 1 bar to 3 bars on my driveway. But importantly (as I plan to use my phone as a wireless router on longer trips for the passengers on board), leaving the phone by the handbrake storage resulted in approximately 3 to 4 mbps data (Three network), putting the phone in the cubby hole and repeating the test resulted in an increase to 13mbps on average. I repeated the test about 5 times.

One question though before I finalise my spec, with Bluetooth+ is it merely a signal booster? I mean it's a bit confusing as watching the Skoda demo video online about bluetooth, he mentions the signal strength stuff but then goes onto say that with Bluetooth+ you get the voice control aspect.

Can someone definitively who's got one or the other that the normal bluetooh has all the standard voice control shenanigans and that bluetooth+ only brings a signal booster box to the table and nothing else?

cheers in advance :)

You only get Bluetooth connection with normal Bluetooth. Then you have the option of 'Bluetooth+' which gives you the 'Phone box' with boosted signal or you can opt for 'Bluetooth+ with voice control' which gives you all the features. So no voice control with normal Bluetooth.

Are you sure?? That confuses me even more now, when speccing a vehicle on Skoda UK there is no mention of two types of Bluetooth+ Options or even in the brochure! Maybe it's different in the UK.

Someone else will have to confirm it for UK but I'm almost certain it's the same. Here you can't have voice control without the phone box with boosted signal.

I have voice control on my vrs and I don't have bluetooth+.

It's a bit hit and miss for me though. For some reason it tries to phone my manger's emergency callout number whenever I tell it to change radio station.

Not great at 2am.

I've got voice control but not bluetooth+, though I don't see the point in voice control as it's easier and quicker just to press buttons.

Oh thought it's the same in UK. My mistake.
