main dealer service best price

Featured Replies

Got three quotes for imminent annual "minor" service (5 years old, 36K total mileage.)

One from specialist dealer, one from main dealer and one from a recommended (by a friend) hole-in-the-wall local garage.

Main dealer cheapest by at least £15 (free 'nearly new' courtesy car, no insurance charges)

Specialist next cheapest - (unusual, as I've used them before and bought a new Skoda from them a while ago). Free 'old banger' courtesy car.

Hole in the wall garage a lot dearer and no courtesy car. All a bit odd really?

Be aware that Skoda dealer courtesy cars usually carry an excess of £1000....thats why I do without.....

Mine is in for a service tomorrow at specialist cars Skoda Aberdeen. £129 for a minor and i got a brand new seat mii with 24miles as a courtesy car for tonight and tomorrow.

They have to be competitive to keep cars with dealership servicing and their customers coming back.

Another reason to use the main dealer then as besides being cheaper a fmdsh is the 1st requirement if your unfortunate to suffer a common known problem after the 3 years warranty has expired if your after some Skoda UK goodwill. Win win then.

Depends on the dealer and who their insurer is, but as advised worth checking.

Good old main dealer as they use all the latest kit when servicing you vehicle...

Is it the yellow one by any chance? Oh hang on a minute there all yellow....  The Octy courtesy car that they've got is nice. And its not really noticeably slower than my vrs since its got the CR150 in it. It handles like a sofa tho...

IMO is always worth servicing your car at a main dealer until the warrenty runs out then I would take it to either a VAG specialist or the dealers again - which ever is cheaper.

This can often be reduced with a £10 fee.

My local is £500 excess or £0 if you pay an £8 waiver.
