The maps you have found are probably the ones for the Octavia Mk3 referred to earlier.  Map updates are generally only available legally from dealers (VW as well as Skoda) although sometimes genuine discs come up on eBay.

 

In your case, given what you probably paid for the car I would go back to the dealer and ask for an upgrade given the issues you have discovered in Reims.  Some dealers are far more helpful than others when it comes to this and prices vary considerably (seen up to £200 quoted here).
