V5

Featured Replies

Hi all, I recently purchased my first skoda and was surprised at the rather high cost of the insurance. When the policy came through in the post it stated automatic, when it clearly is a 5 speed manual box. After contacting the ins company I received £50 credit but have subsequently found that the insurance databases list it as an auto.

The new v5's don't have a section for " transmition type" but the vehicle details "D3 Model" has S-A at the end, I'm assuming this stand for semi auto? I am the second owner, purchased from main dealer as ex demo. So my questions are, do I need to get the v5 changed? If so by who, Skoda, dealer or DVLA ? Also will this change the taxation class?

Any information will be greatfully received

Think you have to get the dealer to do it. Might be worth a search on the dvla website to see if they have a faq section?

Good luck
