How to repair scuffed alloy

Featured Replies

Hi all

I am sure this may come in useful to those of us that, like me, have just scuffed my almost new 17'' Pegasus front Wheel, right on the spoke too, as they tend to stick out :(

Any one have pearls of wisdom on how to clean up the scuff without having the whole wheel refurbished, which seems to be almost the same cost as a new wheel?

I am hoping there is a way to tidy it up?

One suggestion I have had is use fine wire wool to 'clean' the scuff and then clear lacquer to protect and cover the scuffed area, and this should then blend in with the rest of the wheel?

Thanks for any suggestions as I am not a happy person, gutted as every time I look as my lovely Octy 2, I see this bloody great scuff. My old Octy vRS had quite forgiving wheels compared with these.

Thanks

Al.

Perhaps when you find out you could tell my SWMBO - three scuffs, two wheels 3 months!!

Last two were within a week and the last one she managed to rip the bead off that is supposed to protect the wheel!!
