now my phone is buggered.

Featured Replies

This phone is really starting to annoy me now lol. Was casually browsing the internet on my iphone 4s and the screen sort of faded into darkness :( Ive tried a manual reboot and a software reboot. Ive taken the back cover off and checked the screen plug is in position. The phone itself still works, ive even talked to siri and asked to increase the brightness which has brought a very faint light in the background.

Any ideas? Is it worth getting it repaired or buying a new one.

cheers

mods can you move this to technology shed please posted in wrong section

I assume you've tried the hold power button and home button until you get the apple logo for a reset (you won't lose data). Other option is in settings can't you try turning off the automatic brightness setting and see if that helps. Otherwise if that doesn't help, I'd go get a HTC One, not that I'm biased.

ive tried that dude, it vibrates when i get notifications etc . but literally have minimal on the screen i cant make anything out apart from its a tiny bit brighter than when its locked.

Could it be an ios 7 bug? Wasn't there a similar bug when ios 6 was released. Other than that I'm out I'm afraid.

Sounds like the backlight has failed. You can buy a whole front for £20 on ebay.

nooooooo =[

The local Apple store will sell you a recon one for about £100 plus your old phone.

Might be worth plugging into iTunes, backing up, then restore to factory then choosing your last back up for the restore data. Mine did this once or twice but just doing a hard reset sorted it.

My 4s touchscreen doesn't always work properly, I ordered a new one, as it was the cheaper option, but it still doesn't work properly, so I have now upgraded to the 5s.......when it is finally delivered to O2!!

Is that because you still have an iphone data bundle?

I got no idea mate? My contract is a standard 500 mins, unlimited texts and 1gb internet a month. Ive turned iMessage off on my iPad too. I thought that even if they were sending as iMessages it would at least come to my iPad but I've had nothing

Wouldn't have this problem with Android  :giggle:

This happened to me when I wife broke her iphone 5 a few weeks ago. She deregulate registered her phone from iMessage but my text to her still send as I message. As a temp fix I sent them as SMS, by sending (it would try to go as iMessage) then press and hold the blue text bubble and you'll get some options pop up, select send as text. Pain in the ass but works short term.
