Rough running 2.0L

Featured Replies

Hello folks,

I'm new to this site so please forgive me if my problem has been discussed in previous posts.

I have a similar problem with a Skoda Octavia 2000 (2.0ltr petrol hatchback).

The car is hesitant to start sometimes and its particularly bad when the engine is warm or soon after a long journey.

The car will struggle to start and sometimes the engine will vibrate violently before it does so.

It will however start ok when I leave it to cool down for some time

Also, the engine management light has come on. The mechanic said its the engine temperature sensor but the light did not go off when he changed it.

The car is also jumpy and rough to drive when running at low gears or moving off.

Sometimes it feels as if its losing power when pulling away. Its however ok at high speeds when I'm on the motorway.

Mechanic changed plugs recently but this has not made any difference

I feel it might leave me in the middle of nowhere one day if I don't get it fixed soon. Please help

Regards

Dee
