Rub strips are on the list bud. Just need to get a caramel wheel to remove the sticky stuff I'm way to lazy to sit there with tar and glue and a rag.

The trailer tent was excellent much better than our old dome tent.

Next outing I'll take some pics of the beast lol.

Fitted my alloy smic tonight bit of a chore but went ok. Couple of seized jubilee clips and had to drill out the map sensor screws but got it sorted in one go so the wife is pleased.

The old smic was well f£&ked ducting had been rubbing on the front face and was leaking oil. So new one fitted all running ok and a bit of trimming on the ducting allowed me to refit it.

Good point is it's dropped my max boost by 2 psi to 20 at WOT. Very pleased as I felt 22 was a bit high. Power has moved slightly but feels better less aggressive and smoother.

I'll pop so pics up tomorrow garage is a mess and it was dark when I got finished.

Same as mine then. I replaced it with one with 803F on the end of the part number. You getting used to the new one? Does it make the roaring sound

No mate no extra noise boost is down abit and pulls through the range better doesn't seem to run out of steam near the top end quite pleased TBF.

The old one was proper f&@ked though so anything would be an improvement [emoji16]

Well it's been a good run but I've got bored again and think the octy will be going back to standard soon and getting replaced with something else.

Gonna remove all the mods and put em up for sale on here.

Gonna miss the old girl but needs must.

Busy morning got all the boost hoses changed, SFS supersize tip off, hids removed, DV swapped and stock air box refitted.

Just interior, springs and exhaust to go [emoji16].

All parts I've removed will be in the FS section as soon as I get the pics done.

Not sure yet always wanted one and should be good for towing. Mpg has never been my strong point, I'm not much of a tree hugger.

should be good

lol me either   infact until i got the tdi octy ive never had a car that could do more than 30mpg :giggle:

Father in law has a 3.0 petrol auto x5 and it is thirsty beast lol, great car though and yours looks like a clean motor :)

Hoping the manual box is a bit better on juice. Plus it doesn't have the reliability problems of the auto. Does look clean like il find out at week end or it's a trip to Mansfield for nowt.

Lol,when I spoke to your wife at school she did say she missed the skoda haha

We both do mate the X5 is a road slug you need the thrash it to the red line to get it to shift.

The mk2 is what I should have bought instead ah well live and learn, plus I'd always wanted one so that's 1 off the list.

For the record I wouldn't have another.

Just been to Newcastle and back with a lot of short runs and town driving in between and avg mpg was 45. Goes well enough and with a little tweaking should be able the get 195 bhp and over 400 Nm of torque.... not bad for an oil burner.

Dreamscience in Hull will be the best place to take it for a remap/mods. They did all the work on my Focus ST. Fantastic guys and they really know their way around a Ford engine. Can't recommend them enough
