Thanks, I have written a build plan so I keep on track and don't end up putting a Small block chev in it. (As much as I'd love to the chassis would need to be replaced.)

My plan is to get a bit more power out of the standard motor with a Engitec Piston & Sleave kit with a Taz 1500 crank.

I've puchaced a Weber 40 DCOE (sidedraft) as they are a more common carb, I also have a DCD (downdraft) of my mum's old 1600cc MK1 Cortina as she still had it.

Upgrade the wiring and convert to a 12V- earth system with a modern alternator so I have charge at idle.

I would like to fit an Airconditioning system due to the 40+ C temps we get during Adelaide summers.

Don't worry I'm keeping with the standard paint colours and apart from the electrics I'm going to keep everything period correct and reversable.

40DCOEs are fairly common on tuned examples of this engine family.
