vRS passenger seat stuck :-(

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I'm just wondering if anyone can help with a problem that I have on my passenger seat- A pen has dropped into the seat runner. As a result of this, I cant move the seat forwards or backwards to reach for the pen. To make issues worse, the seat is stuck in a position where I have no access to the bolts, so I can't remove the seat at all!

Is there any other way or method used to remove the seats? I can actually see the pen with the use of a torch so I know exactly where it is- it is right at the back of the runner.

Thanks in advance

I had this once, and found braking sharply meant it went flying out.

Hi Alan,

Thanks for your input, from looking at it, it looks pretty wedged in but I'll give it a try.

Can you remove the rear seats to give you a bit more access from behind?

Or failing that, adjust the seat back so that it's completely flat, then lie face down over the edge?

Maybe a long pointy thing will help flick it out?

If you can't move the seats to get to the torx head, I'd adjust the seat as far as you can in the appropriate direction and (presuming its a plastic brio) use a wide bladed screwdriver - place it as squarely as you can onto the brio and wallop the end with a lump hammer, which should shatter the brio into pieces that can be easily removed (either manually by flicking them out, or using a Hoover).

It worked for me.

Same thing happened to me, i just rammed the seat in the opposite direction (as best I could with the limited space) several times and broke the pen (bic) and hoovered up the remains lol.   My headache was I didn't know the pen was stuck there so had no idea what was causing the seat not to move....
