Isofix?

Featured Replies

Evening all,

This question may be covered elsewhere, but i've had no luck after a quick search.

Does isofix definately come as standard? I.e are the anchor points always fitted from build or do you need to request it, even if its at no cost?

The reason i'm asking is that I have previously had Ford Focus's where the isofix was not fitted. Isofix was a no cost option with Ford but you had to request it at build.

The car in question is a vRS TDI hatch which im expecting to take delivery in a few months.

Cheers

I've got an elegance and it came on it

I think rear it's standard but front is an option

My VRS has them :-)

Thanks all.

Much appreciated :)

Come on Mike we're all waiting for pictures!

It's been a legal requirement on new cars for about 10 years now

Uk don't get an option for front isofix

Yes the legal requirement is for cars to be compatible with isofix.

As i stated earlier though, Ford seem to cut costs and not fit the actual anchors unless requested at build (no cost option). The holes are pre-drilled/tapped for the bolts, but no anchors are fitted.

My partners 2013 fiesta ST2 is exactly the same, so looks like nothings changed!

Ha ha, I haven't been able to take any yet as I've left my phone at work yesterday and can't get it till Monday :-(

Not to mention that the car is now filthy lol. What I can say is its a fantastic car. It's comfortable, feels of an extremely high build quality, goes like stink and I love the meteor grey!

I've not been far in it but I have been stopped twice by people loving the colour. Once on the forecourt by a guy collecting his new Fabia at same time as me, who said he had wished he had chosen it ever since he had seen mine at the start of the week (think ours came on the same transporter) and someone else stopped me at the cash point, so I'm feeling very happy with the car and my colour choice at the moment.

I'll see if I can get any decent shots with the wife's phone when she comes home from work but it is pitch black so can't promise anything.

Also sorry for hijacking the thread :-)

isn't that called bimbo fix when in the front? Or is it called bimbofix when the isofix is part of the seat as apposed to bolted directly to the chassis?
