4x4 lowering help

Featured Replies

Hi all can anyone advise me on weather or not you can lower a 4x4 1.8t 1u as I have heard all sorts off horror stories, all advice would be appreciated thanks again Martin

I see no reason at all why you can not lower a 4x4 1.8t Octy, CraigRobbo on here had a lowered 20v turbo 4x4 estate octy it was very quick around the track and worked fine.

I have lowered a 4 Motion MK 4 Golf, same thing, no issues at all and handling is much better now.

There is a thread running now about lowering an Octy 4x4 using S3 springs, this is also a route that would work.

Anyone lowered a Yeti?

It actually handles quite well and I like the surprise factor!

Spax rsx coilies on mine, work a treat

Look in the projects section of the Yeti section, I think 2 people have.

When lowering the 1U Octavia you have to replace the rear tie bars

Forge, KW and Neuspeed do these

Don't buy the compbrake version - known to fail, and according to compbrake themselves unfit for road use

Fair few coilover kits now available for the Octavia: for example DPM's Octavia range

ARB wise, H&R

As mentioned, the S3 setup is usable, as is the R32 setup

A complete R32 setup (springs, coils, tie-bars (R32 tie bars are slotted for lowering, bit not strengthened) & ARB's) would be better

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but how do you find the spax rsx kit ride as a daily driver on the octavia? Speed bumps and general comfort etc.

Cheers buddy!
