Looking to buy a Octavia

Featured Replies

Hello all,

Am looking at buying an Octavia, But i am wanting the 4x4 version. Are the vRS or RS versions 4x4?

Also what turbos do they run? Do they run the Ko3,ko3s or ko4 like the reset of the Vag group?

What power do the interals take aswell?

Thanks.

The vrs/rs aren't 4x4.They do a 4x4 but its 150bhp instead of the vrs's 180.The turbos in the vrs are ko3s.Don't know about the turbo in 4x4 probably a ko3 or ko3s.

No you can't get a 4x4 vrs. They are 150bhp where as the vrs is 180bhp. The vrs runs the ko3s turbo and im pretty sure the internals are max out at about 300bhp. But you would have to go big turbo to reach that.

Does the 150 and 180 map to the same? Whats the diffrence in the vrs and 4x4? Interior and high base bhp? What is the 4x4 model called? Also anyone on here put a Ko4 in a octavia?

I think the engines are more or less the same so should remap to about the same. The vrs interior is part leather where as the 4x4 is cloth.Search on ebay octavia 4x4 and vrs ,should see the difference on there.

So its just the interior and the rear spoiler thats diffrent? Also has anyone had/have a octavia 4x4? Is it just like the Audi S3's 4x4?

No the engine's aren't quite the same internals. Nor are injectors.

4X4's K03 turbo is smaller than the RS's K03S.

And the Octy 4X4 isn't a full 4X4. You only have about 10% drive to the rear. The S3 is miles better in just about every conceivable respect.

So do you think i should just get a vRS? I need to get rid of the S3 because its such a pain to get the little one in and out of.

How much money do you think it would take to get a octavia to 260-300 bhp?

Thanks.

The 4x4 runs a ko3s after a certain year doesnt it?

If you want 260-300 from a vrs your talking big money in the 1000s I would say.

4x4 after 2001 has ko3s before 2001 it has ko3

I'll be getting my Citigo in December and will be looking to sell my remapped 4x4 soon.

1000's. The standard pistons will not take kindly to it. Out of the question with the current exhaust, turbo, fuel pump and engine internals.

4x4 after 2001 has ko3s before 2001 it has ko3

Still has all the other limiting factors though. But supposedly stronger engine internals. Albeit lower compression.

According to the official Skoda workshop manuals the 4x4 engine (ARX) and the vRS engine (AUQ) has the same 9.5:1 compression ratio.

4x4 wasn't available before 2001 and all have the K03s turbo.

Aha, I thought they all had the AUM engine...

Obviously that's just the 2WD 1.8T's.
