Anyone used G3.

Featured Replies

My rear spoiler on my red 51 plate Octy VRS is starting to go a little pink and have heard about a T-CUT like product called G3 wondered if anyone on here had used it and what the results were like long term?

Why is it going pink??

I think it's like the Vauxhall red paint problem, luckily it only seems to be the spoiler so I'm guessing it has something to with the primer or they use a different type of paint for the plastic bits compared to the main body panels.

G3 is very good but is slightly abrasive....Mine went slightly pink cos it was stood on a forecourt for a while....apparantly the plastic is renowned for doing this as well.

All I did was use a Meguiars Quick Clay bar and mist to get the surface contaminents like grit off...then I just polished it with Meguiars Gold Class polish...Sounds like an advert but seriously my car is bright red all over now.

I use G3 everyday in work, very good for getting out fine scratches and bringing back dull paintwork. The only problem with it is that if you are applying a polish by hand, G3 is not the one to use as it is designed for high revolution buffers (air powered etc). It would do the trick but you'd have to be carful with it as High rev buffers can burn through paint as quick as you could say "****!)

Hope this is of use to you

I am aware of the burning issue after see Ed China using it on Wheeler Dealers but I think you can get a G3 which can be applied by hand like a normal polish.

I was considering Maguires Scrach X so may give that a go then the G3 if that doesn't work.

ignore this....

G10 is probably a better option, you can use it with a cloth rather than buffers etc, i was told by a body shop that the lower the grade the more abrasive it is.

sounds like the above option with the Meguires is worth a crack though.
