Good bye vrs hello monster!

Featured Replies

The time has come to move on with my life and after a horrible two years it's time for the vrs to go

Those of you will remember I was really out on the vrs when I bought it but I eventually came round after a re map. The vrs has been a fantastic family car, lots of space and the reliability of a car twice it's value. My only issue with it was the lack of power, and a fault by myself when ordering!!! I never stood my ground and demanded the real leather seats as per factory settings and electrical and heating.

I looked at the new vrs but, sorry, I don,t like the look of it!! Sorry it's just so so bland! I looked at the focus st estate but the boot was too small and an insignia vxr but for the price it fell short,,,,,, so I have got,,,,

An Audi s4 advant black edition!!!!! With red leather, panoramic roof!!!! And what a car!! I am so so made up. I so much wanted a Subaru sti but with my wife unable to drive it would be selfish to get another car

My time in the vrs was good, times to remember was the look the driver of a new m3 gave me when he was in the wrong lane and tried to cut me up in a rolling start in second gear!!!! That is its speciality!! And a trip to Germany on the magic autobarn when a good 150 was obtained!!!

Any comments would be grateful

Andy

Nice choice, enjoy your new motor :)

When I read the thread title I thought you'd bought a Yeti!

Taken the same path as me. Within 15 months of getting of the S4 I have gone through an S5 coupe a temp S5 cab and now an RS 5.

The S4 was a big step up from the VRS. You are the fourth member I know on here who has gone the same route.

Getting myself in a V10+ and an RS 6 this weekend as well. It doesn't stop.

What's the full spec?

Needs an exhaust though. I heard the AWE exhaust last weekend and it is pretty good.

Exactly what I thought.

Nice choice hope you enjoy it :)

Damn, I also thought you'd traded in for a Yeti but no, it's an S4? Oh well, never mind. ;)

Enjoy the S4. :)

Saw this and thought maybe you'd gone for a Ducati  .

Welcome to the club :)

I went from stage 1 vRS to a saloon S4.

Massive improvement in handling, traction and general quality.

I find the S4 very quick from a standing start, great for the traffic light Grand Prix :D , but once rolling my old (stage 1) vRS would give it a hard time.

I quickly put a Revo stage 1 map on it, and it now rightly deserves the 'monster' label you give it :D You will easily see 400-430 bhp depending on the tuner you use. They are a great car with great tuning potential, a real Q car.

Hope you enjoy :)

Thanks for all your comments, even the yeti ones!!!! I don,t think I could see myself in one of them just yet!!! But never say never!!

No I am made up with the s4 advant. All wheel drive was a must and a sub 5 60 time. I have given up with the overall blasts now as I know my old employers will be like a dog looking for its bone to catch me out!!!! Good luck trying!!!!

I also want to do a drive around the UK stopping off at various places and visiting places I have never been to before. I also wanted an automatic as it will help my back, and also the overall reason was one of self pride, and a snide two finger wave to all who thought I would get a toffee crisp packet when I retired!!!!!

good choice Andy,

i haven't been on here for a while (too busy with bikes and work)

i was at three sisters rally the other week and was wondering how you were - sounds as if you're sorted?

Thanks Marc yes I am made up with it after all the rubbish I have been through

I have not been for a while myself I am looking to Wales next week if you are?

Had a VRS, didn't buy a Yeti then.  But that's a monster.

Profile says a 250 RS.

He's got  what, one of those Audi things? ;)

There goes the neighbourhood. :D
