Noisy sun roof.

Featured Replies

I have a 2002 Octavia and the sun roof become noisy when I get to about 60 - 70mph.

This is obviously air bowing through a gap somewhere. Is there a simple cure for this problem??

Many thanks

It may be that the sunroof is not closing fully due to dirt or friction on the tracks.

Like the auto close door windows, the sunroof will stop before the end if the friction is too high. However, there is an override described in the car driver's manual. To over-ride the auto-stop, press in and hold down the rotary control when closing the sunroof. If friction or dirt was the problem, this will force the motor to take more current and push the glass into the closed position. Release the switch as soon as the sunroof is closed.

Try this if only to eliminate one possible cause.

or manually close the sunroof by hand, rather than electrically.....
