Front Windows

Featured Replies

Does anybody know if the "force limiter" is adjustable on the front windows?

On my 6 week old Roomster the drivers window goes down when up is selected, but much more often when the glass and seals are wet. It is going in to the dealers next week and it would be good to know if others have had this issue and what was done to cure it

Mines similar age to yours, and have used it quite a bit in the recent wet and windy conditions, but so far so good no problems. Would be interested to hear the dealers take on it when its fixed

I had that problem in my first Octavia back in 2002 and while the car was new. After a thorough check by dealer's body shop person, proved to be that the upper side of the door's frame was slightly (I never managed to see it with my own eyes even they showed it to me) crooked or askew and not perfectly straight. That caused the window to be in contact with the frame and activated the force limiter to wind it down. Especially when turning right on country side roads.

The solution was a slam hit by the body shop worker (in bare hands) in the middle of the door's frame upper side that fixed the problem. I reallise that my story sounds ridiculus, but it is true.

Well the Dealer failed at their first attempt, I think they only lubricated the guides etc. Was OK when I picked it up yesterday, but was exactly the same today in the rain. However, they washed the Roomster and gave me a 1.4tsi Octavia for a few hours!

Booked in again near the end of the month for two days.
