Very unhappy with the 'bodyshop'

Featured Replies

So as you know my car went to get its tailgate done under warranty. They said it would take a week at max and I've only just got it today, a week and 3 days later. It was kind of dark when I picked the car up so I couldn't inspect the job. Got the shell station to find the car was in a state, scratches all over, not cleaned, and even what looks like a deep key scratch in the fresh paint, here's some photos although I couldn't get one of the scratch because of the reflection but you can see where they've tried to take the spoiler off and lefts all the scratches, even where they've had two tubs of something on the roof and some type of sticky stuff next to the plate, really am disgusted they've let it come out like this. Will be going to skoda tomorrow to complain big time.

Baring in mine I love keeping my paint in tip top condition and not so long ago had it fully machine polished so I know there was no scratches there before it went in.

Devastated for you man, that's awful. Let us know what they say. I'd be getting some full detail quotes from people to give them without a doubt.

That's out of order, massively unprofessional. Any half decent bodyshop should be sending the cars out immaculate! Hope they sort it out

WoW that is a disgrace but im really not surprised ive come to the conclusion that some people that supply a service just dont give a ****, Im in n.ireland and my local skoda dealer is in Lurgan and imo there a joke but not in a ha ha way .i needed a lower window stripe replaced this week on my fabia threw warranty it meant taking the door card of, mirror of then the old stripe taken of and new one put on, mirror back on then door card back on but because they are muppets there i said that i would buy the stripe myself and fit it myself ...the parts guy and warranty manager looked at each other as if i was mad but i know it will be fitted properly without damage being done and me having to spend time cleaning there filth and greasy hand marks of the car, believe me i know how this crowd work i was caught once but not again.. if i was in your shoes and my car came back to me as the pics show i would be shaking with rage. please let us know what happens.

Well that is a mess!

Sorry to see that I'd complain and copy in Skoda UK, probably best to do it in writing too.

Thats a shambles, is that filer lines next to the rear plate? G3 all over the roof?

Wow

Looks bad just from the pictures, must be worse in real life

Spoke to the bodyshop manager today, he said he wasn't in yesterday to check over it before it went and and was really apologetic (if that's a word lol). He said to bring it back in and whatever is wrong it will get sorted, going in tomorrow will keep you posted.

Little update, dads dropped the car off this morning as I'm away for the weekend. The manager has said he is disgusted they've let it go out in that condition and he wasn't in the day it went out to check it over, he said they'll do what's necessary to bring the paint back to how it was, was very apologetic too.

Still feel a bit scared that my pride and joy is in their hands again after the mess they've made of it once already, hopefully have it back Monday night they've said. Fingers crossed everything's back to normal if not I'll be taking further action.

I had this once, same scenario with an Escort Turbo (a few years ago in the very early 90's...)

My car was tolen from my drive by one of the local Nottinghamshire **** heads and when recovered was taken to the Ford Main Dealer.

Came back, and the front of the car was painted a different white to the rest (they apparently had different shades of white, white with hints of blue, green etc), and mine was distinctly white with a hint of green in the area they had replaced.

They tried to fob me off with the 'betterment' phrase, basically they couldn't put he car back into a condition better than before.

Obviously I pointed out that you can't do a new repair and 'age' it, (plus the colour was wrong anyway), and this was impractical and flawed in law, as the repair had to be of a satisfactory standard (they had also caused damage to the surrounding paintwork).

I therefore contacted my insurance company, sent them pictures (no images back then) and told them, and Ford, I was rejecting the car as the repairs were not to a satisfactory standard.

Top and bottom was that they had the car for an extra month to get it all correct, after a threat of court action.

NB, just read what I've written and chuckled at my use of the word 'shade' in conjunction with white; White is a shade, not a colour, so did I mean ' a shade of a shade'?
