What, even accidentally finishing up at a rave? ;)

Good point.

Glow sticks and white gloves too.

Hi-vis vest, I always keep one in the car, better p be seen if you have to stop on the hard shoulder

A couple of things which haven't been mentioned...

A full sized spare wheel and a piece of wood about a foot square in case you need to jack the car up on soft ground.

The full sized spare is important because a space saver good for 50 miles at 50mph is no earthly use if you are 150 miles from home at 8:30pm.

 - High vis, pack of rubber gloves and a decent wheel brace.

 - Tyre inflator.
You will get a punchture on the side of the road and it's much safer to reinflate a slow one and then change at the services.

 - Phone kit

 - If you've got a vRS, either B12 kit or eibach/decent dampers when yours wear out.

 - Good tyres with plenty of tread and winters or a good set of all seasons.

 - Blanket in the back/boot.

 - First aid kit.

 - Bottle of screenwash concentrate.

 - Water and something you can eat if you get stuck in a long jam.

 - Decent music/ipod interface etc

 - Glass cleaner and an interior glass cloth and an exterior glass cloth.

 - Squeegy

 - Aquapel or similar on the windows. (Makes it so much nicer in heavy rain).

 - Breakdown cover

 - Set of gloves for the winter or if you're stopping lots an engine pre-heater can be a good option.

 - Paracetamol/Asprin

 - Gum or mints or jelly beans

 - set of spare comfortable driving shoes (I killed a pair and had the heel come off mid drive!)

 - Ice scraper, soft dustpan and a shovel (if you're doing a lot of winter driving).

That's all I can think of at the minute.

I'm currently averaging about 3000 a month, so if I have a soh moment, I'll put it in my car and add it to the list.

Back - lumbar support? After 2 days driving down to middle France last year my back hated me.

Oh Certainly and if you're going VAG I can confirm the electronic Lumbar is 1000 times better than the manual one, as it can move in and out more than the manual, but also moved up and down.

+1

I wouldn’t buy another VAG without electric lumbar support

Possibly also a decent in car camera just in case.
