Can any body recommend a good aftermarket xenon hid kit for my mk1 octy as its a damn minefield out there and really don't want to have the preverables pulled Down and the preverable spanked.. Cheers all

Get a set of factory fitted light units that come with the projectors in, they do pop up from time to time on ebay

Really? So there really isn't any good aftermarket kits for the canbus cars as there seems to be quite a few advertised it just seems a confusing decision

Just find a set on eBay, they're pretty much all the same. All you need to decide is the colour temperature, and what bulb type you need. You need H4, but if you have a look, they do different styles of H4 HID.

You need a H4 Bi-Xenon (Hi/Lo) kit, preferably 5000k or lower!

As above, get the correct headlamps for HIDs, dont just slap em in the standard headlamps.

Lloyd excuse my ignorance but does the link show the kit I need??? And do they go into my standard headlamps ??

Just to add, I notice EuroCarParts now list aftermarket HID conversion kits. I don't know what they are like though

You need a H4 hi/lo kit as already stated, then just choose the colour temp 4300k (oem) 6000k, 8000k etc... 6000k give better light in rain in the dark.

I have an 8000k kit, and will the swapping to 6000k soon. The beam pattern is fine

Also the mk1 vrs isnt canbus so the canbus kit is not needed

I ordered a kit off ebay for £26.55 for my girlfriends dads ford fusion. Fitting it later today so will post on the quality

So long as you stay below 6000k the police won't really care and won't know unless they pull you over but without headlamp washers and self leveling they are illegal

Yup stay away from the hellish blue HID's!

 

some 4300k - 5500k and you'll be a good one.
