Hi there I'm just after some advice really before I take a hammer to my car I've got a mk1 octavia vrs and ever since I've had it remapped the engine management light keeps coming on and everytime I take it in to have the problem diagnosed then get the work done and faults deleted then get 3 miles down the road and the light comes back on with a new fault I'm I just throwing money at a lost corse ????????

What faults have been thrown up and who did the mapping?

Hi there Bank 1 something or other which turned out to be the lambda sensor one was to do with dumb valve so changed that cam positioning sensor changed that put new spark plugs in changed coil pack and I haven't got the latest one diagnosed yet mate

Take it back to who ever re-mapped it, that sounds like the problem,

Oh and pro chip uk in Trowbridge did the remap ????

Yeah was think that mate

Could be just coincidence, it does happen, but if nothing like the SAI, EVAP system, dump valve etc have been removed/changed and not been taken into account when the remap was done then as Auric says take it back and tell them your not happy with it.

Trouble is had it done about a month ago don't think they will give my money back it's like it can't handle the extra power that's trying to be put through it cos like I said when you delete the faults runs lovely for about 3 miles then light comes on and power drops ????

Take it Back

But can I do that after a month?

Yes. Shouldnt be throwing up faults every 5 mins. Ask them to check the map they put on.

Contact CNTUNING on here, Clive might be able to give you some advice
