Good point!

Many independent bodyshops are approved by the manufacturers so the warranties still apply.

I know the one that rebuilt Dewi, in Llanymynach, was.

The place that did mine is Skoda approved and gave a lifetime warranty on the repair.

Skoda Approved doesn't mean quality as I found out with our previous Fabia II, which after two years suddenly started to loose the paint from the bonnet in flakes :S

 

Warranty repair approved at the nearest 'aproved' body-shop as the dealer didn't have their own but it was a very poor job. Would have complained had we not already planned to replace it anyway. Local independent back street shop in town, did a far better job on my lads previous car, after he brushed a bollard parking up in a carpark.
