Possibly ordering my Octavia - What to expect?

Featured Replies

Looking to possibly order my VRS Estate TDi

However after the initial excitement and bargain quote, looks like people are experiencing ridiculous delays.

Spec would be white, privacy glass, normal cruise and iPod connection so no crazy options.

What am I to expect delivery wise?! 3-4months?

This could be a deciding factor as I will need a car far sooner than this

From what I can make out from people on here a lot of it is down to dealer allocations. Ask the dealer you plan on using if they have filled their allocation for the month. If not *in theory* you should have it in 16 weeks (that's the current lead time on a VRS).

If they have used their allocation your order would not go through until the following month.

Thanks that helps a lot. I am ordering from al ease company not a dealer so will enquire as to stock. They have quoted 12+/- for delivery

At least most of the winter weather ice, snow and salted roads will be behind you, and not under your new car, eh??

Lease companies tend to pick from wherever has allocation, far and wide so expect 12-16 weeks (standard lead time) unless you get lucky and bag a cancelled order or "stock" car.

Have a word with Oliver Bird at Vindis Fleet, he managed to get hold of a car for me within 5 weeks

He also has options on a couple of vRS estates.

You sure?

Me?  October 5th order, delivery early December (apparently).....8 - 10 weeks tops.

Of course, the dealer might just be telling me porkie pies :wonder:

Yep. Check out this post in the Delivery Times thread.

Current lead time on a VRS is 16 weeks.

Please see attached ladies and gents.

Not very good news if you have ordered a VRS.

Production and Supply update - Week 45.pdf

They also won't have lane assist installed until supply issues have been sorted.

Are you sure lane assist won't be there? I though the problems were with front assist

That's not true, lane assist isn't available as an option on other models anymore but as it's standard on the vRS it's still there.

A7 Octavia - Item restrictions causing lead time increase

We’ve removed the following options from ordering for the Octavia to maintain lead times and customer satisfaction: 6K2: Front assistant, PLI: Adaptive cruise control, PWH: Lane assistant, PJG: 17-inch Denom alloys. These options will be removed from brochures… (See Bulletin SK0904-13)

I've seen others say that this is only for new orders and that existing cars will have it....

Who knows though, anything could turn up!

I certainly hope that my VRS will have lane assist. I ordered about a week ago and the dealer pointed out lane assist as a standard feature on the test drive. It is also still showing on the Skoda website.

Should I be worried?

Panic over. It looks like you can't get lane assist on any of the lower spec models (SE and so on). The VRS still has it.

Spot on. Lane Assit has been removed as an option, but it was never an option on the vRS, it's always been standard fit, and still is.

It's removal as an option from other models prevents delays in vRS production due to shortage of parts.

Yep, just as I posted this morning.  Unfortunately there is a hell of alot of misinformation on this forum of late.

Do we need '' Lane assist '' on a vRS...??

With all the cars i had I have never had it..!!

OP,

I ordered my vRS the start of October via a lease company. I’ve been give the 20th December as a delivery however all they can tell me is it isn’t being built yet so the 20th sounds optimistic to say the least.

I’ve ordered a hatch only options were met paint and cruise.

If it starts drifting well into the new year I may just wait until the 1st of March.

Suddenly the mist of confusion clears.  I really wanted lane assist just as another safety feature.  Used it on an extended test drive and really liked it.  Thanks for the info.
