Evening,

 

Although I regularly oil the hinges and check strap on the car, the drivers door has started making a loud creaking sound when it is opening  It is not the lock.

 

I have oiled the hinges and check strap again but the noise persists.

 

Any ideas?

 

How easy is it the remove the hinge pins?

The spline bolt which attaches the end of the check-strap to the door has been known to come undone a bit and cause a surprising racket.

The oil has soaked in and all is now well.
