Towbars Estate and Hatchback.

Featured Replies

Just wondering if there are any differences between an estate and a hatchbacks towbar

When I was looking there seemed to be but can't remember what! Sure it's to do with chasis mounting

my towbar is off a hatch, i have had it on 2 estates

Pretty sure the mounting is the same between hatch and estate.  It differs from how the factory fit crashbar is fitted though.

Towbars have long "arms" which slot into the back of the car, where as the stock crash bar uses 3 spot welded bolts on each side (one of mine fell off when I was putting the old nut back on!!).

Nowt's different, they both fit fine. The only difference is between 2wd and 4x4's due to the height of the tow ball
