Speaker Size

Featured Replies

Good afternoon All

My first post here

So first off its, Hello from me.

I've been fortunate enough to be offered an Octavia Estate elegance (1.6TDI)  as a company car. Good job too, as my current Seat Toledo 2.3 V5 is getting a bit long in the tooth.

Leasing company claimed they had a canx'ed order and if i wanted a car this year i can take this order.  (Build wk 46, delivery December 6th. Lets wait and see !!)

The order is for a Brilliant Silver Elegance estate with no extras over elegance spec. Front assist has already been removed from the build (Car was apparently ordered months ago). I would have liked to have added the 18" wheels, sunset glass and Canton speakers. However that was not possible as the car was "To far down the line" .

I will get the windows slightly tinted by a third party when the car arrives and i would like upgrade the speakers.

My question is: Does any one know what size the speakers are?

Cheers

Ryan

Firstly, no I'm not sure what the speaker sizes are.

Having had this same car now for two weeks and listens to the radio/music a fair bit I can honestly say that the standard sound system is more than good enough. I'm sure that the Canton is better as it would be an expensive option to add but realistically are you really going to tell that much difference??

Save yourself some money and just tweak the bass, miss and highs setting on the screen and I'm sure you'll find it's more than ample for your needs!

I intend doing similar to that, and if it turns out not to be good enough, a speaker upgrade is on the cards. I would like to know the speaker size also. I'd be surprised if they weren't 165mm in the doors. Goodness knows what size the tweeters are, or more importantly, how to remove the originals.

Thanks for the reply's

I'll wait for the car to arrive and have a play first, if you think the standard set up is OK.

Standard set up is pretty good, I like listening to rock music and find that by fading 70% to rear, upping the base and treble, but lowering the middle using the built in sound settings does me just fine, loads better than the MkII Superb I had previously.
