Re synching Remote central locking

Featured Replies

Dear all,

Apologies if this has been asked in other threads.

I was wondering whether anybody knows if it's possible to re synch the remote key fob for my 03 Fabia 1.2 HTP? The battery has been replaced and the red light flashes on the key fob when operated but it doesn't activate the locking mechanism remotely.

They key otherwise performs all functions correctly, ie unlocking door manually and starting the engine.

I've asked a Skoda dealer - they advise it can only be re coded by them at a cost of £40 odd. Naturally, I am skeptical of this as I have read before about procedures to resynchronise remote keys.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Cheers

I'd imagine this needs to be done using vcds, not sure though if that's the case you could take a look on the who has vcds topic and find a friendly brisk ordain in your area to help you out.

It is a case (with a lot of Skoda models) that you put the blade into the lock, turn it and press a button, turn it the other way and press a button then lock and unlock with the remote.

Will respond with further info when I remember the full procedure...

1. Switch Ignition ON and leave the key in the ignition.
2. Mechanically lock the vehicle from the Drivers door using the key to be coded.
3. Using the remote control press the Unlock button once, and the horn
will sound once.
4. Wait 6 seconds and press the unlock button once to activate the coding
procedure.

The remote control should now be programmed.

Please let me know how you get on!

you need 2 keys to be able to sync remote with manual procedure. If you just have 1 key then it needs to be done with VCDS or a key programming tool such as MVP Pro.
