My passenger door doesn't unlock 90% of the time, when i use the central locking. It requires a good thump right next to the handle before lock & unlocking it to open it. This is getting tiresome, so has been booked into the garage next friday to be looked at.

 

In the meantime, can anyone suggest causes, or cheap fixes for it? Thumping my car has got me a few odd looks, and WD40 around the mechanism has done nothing!

My plan of attack would be to remove the door card and watch the mechanism as its locked/unlocked. Wd40 isn't really useful as a lubricant, try some sort if silicone spray/grease.
