Looking good.  Are those graphics on the back half of the car from the factory? :)

I'd be worried about polishing with that amount of stickers :D

no the graphics i designed and had put on myself, its not that bad to polish with them on, they come up pretty well :)

Nice work Jay, what was the wash process?

Soapy water, i should have used the shampoo with the autoglym kit but i forgot

Nice to see your monte again. Looks perfect.

needs lowering ;) very shiney though

Looks stunning Jay, I bet that'll turn a few heads!

Did you paint the calipers and drums yourself?

Do you mean soapy water as in washing up liquid.

I would suggest that you don't do this again and definitely switch to a dedicated car shampoo like the AG.

Washing up liquid will leave undesirable residues and contains among other things salt and is not considered that great for bodywork.  It will also strip waxes and sealants.

Sparkly is very right. You shouldnt use fairy or any other washing up liquid, its very corrosive.

Sorry to say, but id be goin back out there and washing all that fairy off ;) haha

After three months of ownership I finally got around to giving my gl2 a bit of tlc.

Proper wash followed by a clay and I was staggered the amount of black that came off the car, articulately the sills. Where once they were rough to the touch despite looking clean, they now feel like glass. This was all followed by a machine polish and wax. Rain-x the windows and that should be her set for winter.

I am afraid the car is 'old biddy blue' which Skoda call Meteor grey so it does not transform its looks with a good wax but I'm pleased noe the less. The other shot is the best mpg I've had to date at shutdown. Was 94.1 as I left the A34 but roundabouts and parking dropped it down.

Is there an ECU update out from Skoda that makes for better economy?

Kind regards,

Ed
