Right, popped 30 miles down the road to pick the donor seats that were up on ebay but hadn't sold

 

I had hoped to get something cheaper and nattier, TBH....but met a nice guy with a Fabia who upgraded to vRS seats and had these 2006 set spare.

 

Well heres the thing I'm feeling....they actually seem TOO good to rip apart !

I've taken one pic of the Recaro next to the donor.

The drivers is the MOST soiled of the lot but I think would clean up, but you can see a bit of a mark in the photo. They aren't ripped, cigarette burnt etc....

 

So here is the dilemma,

1/ Firstly, I wonder if another member desperately needed better seats and we could do a deal whereby I get a crapper set of seats more suited to being ripped apart? My only requirement is front and rear Fab seat bases but with drivers height adjustment needed, and I will need the rear back (not bench) only.

 

As I'm in NO rush. I'm not really feeling fantastic at the mo so not really rip raring to get into it....in fact the way I feel I could leave it til spring next year or not even bother !?

 

2/ Secondly I'm feeling a bit apprehensive about the rears TBH more than anything....I can see the fronts should be more or less straightforward? I can now see comparing them the comments about the length and the position of the release and how taking this on could be a bit of a challenge

Don't worry too much mate. When I picked up my seats from the Alfa ... I was a bit like ... "****, these are never going to go in!"

But once you get going and stuff starts to come apart it all becomes much clearer.
