Hello there. I'm looking at buying a fabia vrs estate 2010 model. I've never owned a skoda before and love the idea of owning a VRS. I'm just after some advice really. Obviously, I'm aware of the oil 'issues' and I'll be honest, it's kinda putting me off a little bit. Anyway. A little more about the car. It's up for 10k and has just over 20k miles on it. Apparently it's had 2 services so far and will now be due another one Imagine. It's cave engine. I need something with big boot as have dog and a baby on the way...vrs hatch is out of the question unfortunately :-(. What do you recommend I do guys? I was also thinking of maybe an Octavia vrs. I think the boot would be big enough for pushchair and a dog? What's the better car/engine/ drive? It would prob be a 08/09 plate if I went with the Octavia. If I did go with the Octavia, it would have to be the diesel as I couldn't afford to run the petrol. Many thanks guys. Look forward to hearing from you.

Welcome along. I own a 2009 octavia cr vrs and I love it. The estate has a very big boot and will be more than adequate for a dog and push chair.

Hey hey . Thanks for all the messages and info. Giving me a lot to think about. I've had a few email notifications with replies but they aren't showing in the thread. Not sure if they're private messages? Still getting to grips with the forum! :-)

A Skoda is hardly a mid life crisis is it?  ;)

Welcome!
