Fitting the Vanstyle rear blinds

Featured Replies

Do any of you Octavia II owners have the split Vanstyle rear blind fitted to you car?

If so, how do you get the best fit? I've found that if trying to use the retaining clips, the two blinds are trying to overlap in the middle - currently they're just in place under tension with no clips and seem to be OK, but the tension means there is a gap between the two blinds that the joining clip doesn't quite pull together properly.

Difficult to explain but if anybody has any tips, they would be welcome.

Not being funny but mine overlapped when I fitted them upside down...

Even the right way around, I hated the join and ditched them in the end.

Give Vanstyle a shout via their website - think they're usually pretty good sorting issues out (even if you might not be the original purchaser, just don't tell them ;))

I just got the Skoda rear side blinds as I thought this might happen, with the size of the rear window. And thought the join might be distracting.

Mine fit perfectly as long as they sent you the right ones with the high intensity cut out ,they are a tight fit send for extra clips I have two in the middle. I will try to photograph mine if your stuck.

I have three clips on the join in the centre (top, middle and bottom) and i have three clips on either side. This seems to keep it in place all the time and i have never had any problems.

I originally lost one clip and contacted the seller and he sent through a whole bag of them  :whew:

You're right, that wasn't even remotely funny. :)

These only fit one way, the 3rd brake light cutout isn't so much a cutout as a recess in the frame - the blind the sits on top of the plastic over the brake light. A couple of extra clips would definitely be handy so I'll give vanstyle a shout. Just seems a nightmare to get the clips seated beneath the trim on the hatch lid.

If you could post a couple of pics, that would be great, especially of the fitment around the 3rd brake light. Cheers!

Yeah sorry!! But I definitely managed to initially fit mine upside down or at least a rotation of 90 degrees out, although mine is an estate not a hatch...

There's a cutout that fits around the moulding in the trim that goes around the wiper motor, I had a look at trying to fit them upside down to see how different the orientation was but they do only go in one way.
