Picked my Estate up today

Featured Replies

Well

I have driven the car home, approx 100 miles of motorway at a good 70 mph !!  and then to Bromley and back in the rush hour, about 20 miles. Checked the computer

and it said 51mpg !!!

I have just come from owning a Grand Cherokee which would have done about 23 mpg. I will check the true mpg, full tank to full tank later.

The Estate is a 2013 model in platin grey with 18 inch wheels, sports suspension and sunset glass. It is so easy to drive, the dsg gearbox is fantastic.

It was the garages demo car so no long wait for delivery. The only thing I would have liked is the winter pack. The sat nav works well as does then bluetooth phone

connection. Took about 30 seconds to pair and download my contacts. Skoda service at the garage was excellent.

Well tomorrow I will load all my tools on the Octavia and the real test begins......Its raining now so I will post some pics tomorrow.

Sounds excellent - would you mind me asking where you bought it?

Hi

Bought it from Sparshatts , Botley, Southampton

Sounds great. I have diesel VRS estate coming soon.  Was torn between that and elegance but the availability of a VRS quickly made the decision for me. Hope I don't regret my impatience.  Can't wait. Enjoy your motor and the fuel savings.  Going to spend quite a bit of time at about 70 on the motorway. What's the rev counter say at that speed please?

At 70mph in 6th it's roughly 1800rpm.

Thanks for the info - great looking car, good cruiser and nice sound system. Who could ask for more?    If you're sad then so am I as I'm reading how to put the station logo on a car I may noy have until next year (build week 49).  Enjoy your motor.

Driving my Citroen C5 (1.6 diesel, 2009) at 50mph (not sure anyone ever manages more than that on the M6 from J10 to J7) in top gear the engine ticks over at 1800 rpm. At 70 it's over 2000. Looking forward to being able to cruise in sixth gear again, I really miss that on motorways.  Come on 2014, I want my new car, the first I've ever brought.
