Retro fit blue dash and interior lights...

Featured Replies

How much??

There will be a lot of soldering involved too, which it probably didn't mention.

I've done mine and a couple of other Fabias

And I changed my brothers Octy 1 to red and purple

Not tried an Octy 2 though, so can't help too much unfortunately.

It took 6+ hours to do my brothers octy

nice work

That does look so much better than the standard look.

It will cost in £ sterling £75 for the kit. I am considering to change them after xmas break, obviously this means handing it over to my VAG mechanic, that's unless someone here is kind enough to do it for me, for some cash :)

You could probably get the LEDs cheaper from here.

Www.crazyleds.co.uk it's where I get my LEDs from.

If it's like the mk1 octavia you will need the plcc-3528 smd and 3mm led.

Won't cost any more than £30

If you were closer I'd have a go at helping

I'll have a look on the link you sent. My guess is, it will cost me around £180 to get them fitted from a garage? You live on the other side of U.K, will be difficult to help out :(

It's not something a usual garage would do I'd guess. It's quite specialist soldering the small components.

You'd be looking at 6 hours plus for the labour alone. If it comes to it you could post some of the switches to me if you're not comfortable doing them yourself

That link you sent me doesn't seem to have the kit. I'm sure a VAG Indy will be able to retrofit these blue led dash lights.

I'm looking to do the LED's behind a lot of the button controls in my MK1 Octy, some of which don't even light up at present - bit dubious as to whether they're ment to to be honest - but would I be looking at 3mm LED's, and would there be much soldering involved, or is that just if you get stuck into the Dash?

Major faff and judging by the pics above doesn't really look vw oem. Plus then you've also got the leccy window switches etc as well. It'd be easier to replace everything like the cluster, heater controls with stuff from a vw?? Find someone breaking a mk5 golf and swap it over?

I'm tempted to see if vagwerkes can do me something custom... Keep the green but white needles etc.
