Fuel economy from ecu remap

Featured Replies

Guys

Any idea of readings when its a dieseil? I have a 2013 TDI and could do with some extra MPG more so that the poke!

Do you lads all bring it to "specialists"? I'm worried that some clown could screw up the ECU and cost me a fortune!! :(

Or have you done it yourself?

I'm based in Ireland myself.

Many thanks

have a look at DTUK's website. I've not got one of their boxes myself so can't say what they are like but they offer a plug and play alternative to remapping if you are uneasy with the idea of someone tampering with your ecu.

07 VRS PD170 running Shark Stage 1, DPF removed, EGR removed, 118,000 miles

MPG acording to maxidot is 49.9mpg, easily get 600 from a tank and have seen 58 MPG on a good long motorway run sat at 65mph.

drivability is greatly improved, I just find mine smokes a bit when giving it the beans but shark said they can "back that off a bit" in the map if it bothers you. I just find i'm cleaning the arse end more often! lol

Hi, couple of questions, i just swapped my BMW 120d for a 2010 Octavia VRS diesel estate (2 kids - wife getting them a dog for xmas likes camping - needed a big boot in a 'sleeper' of a car.. Looking for the extra poke & mpg, found a tuner in macclesfield called performance blue - anyone used them or heard of them?

Also - while i am posting - the front cig lighter wont work for power leads - can i get off this forum the twin rear seat air vent facia? kids broken the fins on one side already.... & does the car only have one rear fog light?

Finally - i found a really good spec model, it has everything but kitchen sink, any tips on using kit - would be appreciated. I have paired up bluetooth - thats about it. It has... front rear parking sensors, zenon turn lights, maxidot display, columbus satnav (cant find 6 disc changer location) full leather, split level load area, couldnt find nay others like it in country - and the metallic blue.

any help on any of the above gratefully recieved mostly the ECU bit.. cheers

Its a dsg too, had the remap, with 49mpg on a daily 60 mile commute, mostly motorway, performance better. Anyone else tried performance blue?

Nope.

Like a few others I used Shark.

Have a chat, when I was there, they were talking about an economy biased tune, albeit with extra ommph too.
