Dealer just phoned, looks like a build week 6 for me, before christmas i was at week 11, so should be a 14 plate for me now.

5thOct order. Build confirmed for next week

I ordered on the 27th December and dealer just called - I'm on build week six for my Tsi Elegance estate.

Always make me laugh this 10 days business, OK, I can see the point of it as they don't want cars sat around dealers etc, they want them registered and on the road ASAP, however, if you just happen to be on 'holiday' then what can they do about it??!?!?!?

I told him I'm on holiday for the last 2 weeks of February

Dealer not getting much information regarding my order, so I spoke to a nice person at SUK (Natalie) who told me that my car has a provisional build week 8 (Feb 17th) and to check back at the beginning of Feb to see if that date had moved.

 

Ordered week 43 - now got something 'fixed' to look forward to

 

If that date stays the same, then mine will definately be on a 14 plate

BIG update for me. Rang SUK to see whether I could blag options at cost due to further delay and basically they turned right round and said build week 3 CONFIRMED!!!!!!

 

I'm shocked, but now want to make sure I get a march plate! (Sad I know, but will email dealer again as had no response since Nov) the big concern they have now is the damage occurring with transport of cars, so they are spacing and protecting them differently apparently so there are some further slight delays.

My contract said that I needed to collect ten days after it was 'ready'. However, I'm sure given the time we wait for them there is flexibility.

 

 

Got board of waiting for the dealer to get back to me on an update and caved in to ringing SUK

 

Confirmed week 03/14 apparently

 

 

So just a question of whether the dealer will insist we take it on arrival early in Feb or gives us an opportunity to wait two or three weeks for 1st March :wonder:

Plumber, any update on this? I'm not happy having waited this long and not getting the new plate. Reckon this is doable for confirmed week 3 build? 

Also I have to go up north for the car, which will take some time to organise I guess!

pleased to hear you are also WK3

 

Spoke with the sales guy last Friday but like you comms are not the best; supposed to have sent me an e-mail this week but you can guess if I received it

 

Regard taking delivery on the 1st March, he was very non committal and said he would have to refer to the sales manager but there was no point him doing that until the car arrived at Grimsby.

 

May as others have suggested, have to ensure I book a holiday away in February (am actually off work in the third week), if I decide for sure I want to wait that extra two or three weeks.

Lease car processed 11th October. Build week 10 as of yesterday.

Ordered 8th Oct vRS tsi Corrida red combi, Amundsen, Canton, Blk pk, Sunset, Heated seats, Spare wheel.

Was week 15 then week 10. Had a call tonight week 8. Wonder if it will come forward any more?

I'm finding positive in the fact that whilst I won't get it until it's a 14 plate, the weather will have improved so it will stay cleaner that bit longer ;-)
