Reoccurring engine fault code

Featured Replies

Had the following code come up three times this year: 01089 - EVAP emission control sys incorrect flow P0441 lower limit reached intermittent.

Having searched the forum I think I've narrowed it down to the following: N80 valve, charcoal cannister, diverter valve or PCV. Each time the code appeared I took it to the garage, recorded the fault code and had it cleared and it's not come back for a few months. Will be meeting up with a guy tomorrow who has VCDS to clear the code, but can VCDS also track down the faulty component?

Don't really want to be replacing components on a "it might be this basis"

VCDS should be able to activate the valve, then have a listen to see if it's working.  We had a that on a Fabia 1.4, turned out we had a new faulty valve.  Check the wiring to it and all the pipes.

Anyone specifically or can VCDS activate all 3 valves in my first post? What is a new faulty valve, I take it was a typo?

Cheers.

The carbon cannister purge valve or solenoid.

Ok, thanks. Did another search and this time a lot more topics came up and the common one that comes up is replacing the charcoal cannister. So went to Skoda and ordered it, along with a PCV and gasket (as my car consumes oil and this "may" lessen the consumption)

The parts guy came back that due to a revised charcoal cannister, I also need to buy a new rear breather pipe? So cost for everything mentioned comes to £148.
