Vag com (what is it capable of?)

Featured Replies

Apart from the obvious engine code reading dtc reading what else is vag com cable of ???

It will read and clear any and all DTC’s stored (not just engine ones)

Warning lights turned off (needs the fault to be fixed otherwise they will obviously come back on again)

Code changing (activating / de-activating settings)

Variable service resting (where applicable - not the MKI Fabia)

Mileage check

Data logging

Key coding (you need the SKC 1st)

On top of that, if it is a non genuine cable from eBay etc it can even brick your car, set off the airbags or bugger your laptop if you have an aftermarket radio fitted!

its got more options on newer cars, was amazed at all the things i could do on my brothers mk5 golf, was a little gutted when i plugged it into fabia and i couldnt do as much!

it is capable of totally ruining your life if you aren't careful.... very useful tool in the right hands but yeah, capable of dealing serious damage.

Start with an Auto Scan and make sure you add any adaptions made to the log and you should be able to back track if it goes pear shaped.

I got faboka to turn this feature on while remapping my car... I probably should have tested it out in a more secluded area.
